Summer Camp 2026

Information for Registered Campers

Dear Camp Families,

Welcome to Summer Camp at Housatonic Valley Waldorf School. We are so glad you will be joining us this summer. The information below will help you prepare your child for a smooth and joyful camp experience.

Contact Information

If your child will be absent or arriving late, please contact Camp Director Marcela Perez at

Health Forms

All families must submit a Child Health Assessment Form completed by a healthcare provider within three years of the last day of camp.

If your child does not have a current form on file, please submit it by email to mperez@waldorfct.org or fax to 203-364-0630.

Camp Hours

Camp runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Please plan for prompt drop-off and pick-up to support the rhythm of the day.

Extended Care

Extended Care is available from:

  • 8:00–9:00 AM (Early Care)

  • 3:00–6:00 PM (Late Care)

To support appropriate staffing and a calm transition for the children, Extended Care must be reserved and paid for through Homeroom by the day before attendance. Space cannot be guaranteed for same-day requests.

The rate is $7.75 per 30 minutes.

Children picked up after 6:00 PM will incur a late pickup fee of $1 per minute, payable at pickup.

Explorers

(Entering PreK through Grade 1)

Explorers Camp is located on our North Campus play yard at
40 Dodgingtown Rd. (Route 302).

Parking is available in the circular driveway in front of the Rose Garden building or in the Taunton Hill Road parking lot.

Please send your child with:

  • A labeled change of clothes

  • Bathing suit and towel

  • Sun hat (wide-brimmed preferred for full protection)

While much of the playground is shaded, the sandbox is in full sun, making proper sun protection especially important.

All Explorers must be toilet trained.

Artists

(Entering Grades 1–8)

Artists Camp is located on our South Campus play yard at
1 Jacklin Rd.

Parking options include:

  • Circular driveway

  • Front or rear spaces at the Dodgingtown Fire Department (across Jacklin Rd.)

  • Taunton Hill parking lot (across Route 302)

Please do not park directly against the Fire House building.

We recommend sending:

  • A labeled change of clothes

  • Bathing suit and towel

  • Sun hat

  • Sunscreen and/or bug spray (children must apply themselves)

Campers may participate in water play throughout the day.

Food

Please send your child with a labeled lunch and snack, along with an ice pack.

We encourage nourishing, wholesome food choices.
Please avoid soda and candy.

Each child should also bring a labeled water bottle.

Medication

Children may not carry or self-administer medication.

All medications must be provided on the first day of camp with written physician instructions signed by both a doctor and parent. Please contact Marcela with any questions regarding your child’s health needs.

Our staff is CPR certified, and we will work with local medical services if immediate care is needed.

Electronics

Camp is a time to be fully engaged in the outdoor environment and community.
We ask that children do not bring electronic devices.

If your child needs to contact you during the day, they may do so with the help of a counselor.

Clothing & Footwear

Please dress your child in comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing.

We recommend:

  • Sneakers

  • Keene-style or secure sandals

Flip-flops and Crocs are not suitable for active play, as they do not provide the support needed for running, climbing, and outdoor exploration.

We look forward to welcoming your family and sharing a beautiful summer together.

Warmly,
Marcela Perez
Summer Camp Director
