Devin is a proud HVWS alumnus who studied Adventure Education Therapy at Unity College in Maine. He used these skills to develop and lead various educational programs, including the summer camp at HVWS, where he taught botany, outdoor survival skills, and archery.

Devin’s entrepreneurial journey began early, where he quickly rose to leadership positions, mentoring sales teams and focusing on team building, education, and communication. He has maintained his interest in environmentalism through sustainable and renewable energy programs and has contributed to building successful training programs within both startup and established companies.

In addition to his expertise in Adventure Education, Devin has completed foundational studies in environmental and earth sciences. His knowledge spans photovoltaic energy systems, off-grid food systems, sustainability solutions in energy, architecture and design, passive solar, hydro and wind technologies, as well as geology, hydrology, biology, and climatology.

Devin has always valued the connection his Waldorf education fostered with the arts. A self-taught musician, he plays the keyboard, guitar, and violin, and his passion for singing and songwriting has been a long-standing part of his life.

“The true teachers and educators are not those who have learned pedagogy as the science of dealing with children, but those in whom pedagogy has awakened through understanding the human being.”
