McKenna Harris

Class of 2026 Teacher

McKenna brings with her a wealth of enthusiasm, motivation, and a deep love for both children and teaching. Introduced to us through a mutual connection, McKenna immediately stood out for her passion and dedication to providing a creative, holistic education. When McKenna came to us, she had not yet found a program or curriculum that was aligned with her values, interests, and engagement in education, until she experienced Waldorf.

McKenna moved to Connecticut from Iowa after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Enterprise Leadership with a minor in Dance. She completed her Masters in Elementary Education at the University of Bridgeport and interned for a year in the Milford and Woodbridge school systems. McKenna’s educational pursuits have cultivated creativity, love for the dramatic arts and the English language, as well as empathy and compassion for the students in front of her. She volunteered for a summer in the Philippines and Cambodia teaching English to various age groups. She has used her natural gifts as a teacher in her many years as a dance teacher of multiple genres.

After introducing McKenna to HVWS, she continued to research Waldorf education and discovered how it naturally aligns with her core beliefs in educating a child.
