Elisa Lenox

Class of 2030 Teacher

Ms. Lenox graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University with a bachelor’s degree in Art History and studied a year abroad at the Sorbonne and the British Institute in Paris.

Ms. Lenox completed her Waldorf teacher training through the Sunbridge Institute. She was an intern for one year at HVWS in Ms. Washington’s Class of 2023. Ms. Lenox moved to our community along with her son, Dashiell, who is a student in the Class of 2031.

Ms. Lenox grew up in Rockland County, NY where she first became aware of Waldorf education. It was when she moved to California and was a nanny to a family that attended a Waldorf school that she imagined herself one day teaching in such an environment. Ms. Lenox has studied art extensively and is inspired by the beauty that unfolds when a student is allowed to immerse themselves in all aspects of it. The creativity and aesthetic value that a Waldorf education cultivates motivated Ms. Lenox to pursue a teaching career. She has more than fifteen years’ experience working with children through private tutoring, caretaking, and working as a personal chef and event planner for families with high expectations and multi-faceted demands. Ms. Lenox credits her employment experiences with building resiliency and flexibility while her education deepened her belief in the value of artistry in all aspects of life. Ms. Lenox believes that teaching children through the Waldorf method allows their full potential to unfold and she is excited to meet them on this journey and explore the possibilities together.
