Fairy tales; language arts including foundations of reading and writing; numbers and four arithmetical processes: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; science through observation of nature

Spanish, German, Eurythmy, watercolor painting, form drawing (straight/curved lines and forms), beeswax modeling, pentatonic flute, knitting, class play, outdoor games

Grade 2

Main Lesson Subjects:
Fables and legends; lives of the saints; language arts including reading and writing; arithmetic including multiplication tables and numerical patterns; nature projects

Subjects studied after the Main Lesson:
Spanish, German, Eurythmy, watercolor painting, form drawing (symmetry), beeswax modeling, pentatonic flute, crocheting, class play, outdoor games

Grade 3

Main Lesson Subjects:
Old Testament Stories; language arts including reading, grammar, and composition; arithmetic including weights and measures; practical studies in house building and carpentry, farming and gardening

Spanish, German, Eurythmy, watercolor painting, form drawing (radial symmetry), beeswax modeling, pentatonic/diatonic flute and stringed instrument, chorus, knitting, class play, outdoor games/gym, class trip (week at Hawthorne Valley Farm)

Norse mythology; language arts including grammar, writing and composition; arithmetic including fractions; Connecticut history and geography; map making; study of the human being and animal kingdom

Ancient civilizations including Greece, India, Persia and Egypt; language arts including grammar, book and main lesson reports; mathematics including fractions, decimals and introduction to geometry; geography of North America; botany; Olympic "Pentathlon" festival

Spanish, German, Eurythmy, watercolor painting, freehand geometric drawing, woodworking, recorder, stringed instrument, chorus, four-needle knitting, class play, gym

Grade 6

Main Lesson Subjects:
Ancient Rome & the Middle Ages, language arts including reading, grammar and composition; mathematics including business math; geography of South America; sciences including geology, mineralogy, physics of sound, light, heat and magnetism; introduction to astronomy
